Ditch Toxic Cleaners For These Chemical-Free Cleaning Products
You care a lot about keeping your home clean, but you also care about your family’s health. This can leave you trying to toe the tricky line between a deep clean using effective products and exposing your family to toxic chemicals. Fortunately, there is a solution!
Get your home sparkling clean and protect your family against harmful chemicals with these DIY chemical-free cleaning products.
- Countertops: Most counters can get a beautiful clean with a simple combination of half water, half vinegar in a spray bottle. If your countertops are made of granite, marble, or another stone, however, vinegar is too acidic. Instead, use rubbing alcohol or vodka to clean and disinfect them.
- Toilets: Deodorize as you clean by pouring ½ cup of baking soda and 10 drops of tea tree oil into your toilet bowl. Then, add ¼ cup of vinegar and scrub as the combination fizzes. For days when you do not feel like putting your hands in a toilet, you can use a spray bottle filled with vinegar and some essential oil.
- Furniture: Polish up your furniture by combining ¼ cup of vinegar and ¾ cup of olive oil. With a soft cloth, rub this mixture into your furniture. For wood furniture, use ¼ cup of lemon juice with a ½ cup of olive oil instead.
- Drains: Got a clogged drain? Boil two cups of water. Pour ½ cup of baking soda into the drain, then top with the hot water. Need more power? Pour ½ cup of baking soda followed by a ½ cup of vinegar down the drain, then cover it up tightly. Once the fizzing slows, pour a gallon of boiling water down.
You will put a lot of work into keeping your home clean over the years. The efforts becomes a lot less painful if it is an act of maintaining a home you love. To find your dream home in Chino Hills or the surrounding California cities, contact John & Michelle.
